Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 25 September 2026

These terms apply to every service booked with Guardian Safety Checks. They are written in plain language, but they are a legally binding agreement, so please read them before you book.

1.About these terms

These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of services by Guardian Safety Checks (ABN 22 692 731 721) to any person or entity (“you”, “the customer”) who books or receives our services. By booking a service, you agree to be bound by these terms.

2.Our services

Guardian Safety Checks provides smoke alarm, electrical, and gas safety compliance inspections, associated repair and remedial work, and Rental Minimum Standards assessments across Melbourne and surrounding Victorian suburbs. Specific inclusions for each service are described on the relevant service page of this website at the time of booking.

3.Bookings and scheduling

Bookings may be made via our website, by phone, or by email. We will make reasonable efforts to attend within the timeframe agreed at booking, but timing may be affected by factors outside our control (traffic, weather, access delays, prior job overruns). We will notify you as soon as reasonably possible of any expected delay.

4.Property access

You are responsible for arranging safe and reasonable access to the property at the agreed time, including coordinating with tenants where applicable. If our technician cannot gain access at the agreed time through no fault of ours, a call-out or rescheduling fee may apply.

5.Pricing and payment

All prices displayed on this website are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and exclude GST unless stated otherwise. Final pricing will be confirmed at the time of booking or on-site if the scope of work differs from what was booked (for example, additional gas appliances found on-site, or repair work required beyond the original request). Payment is due in accordance with the invoice terms provided at the time of service unless otherwise agreed in writing.

6.Cancellations and rescheduling

We ask for as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule a booking. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, or failure to provide access at the agreed time, may incur a call-out fee to cover the technician’s allocated time.

7.Compliance certificates and reports

Where a service includes a compliance certificate or inspection report, this will be issued based on the condition of the property and appliances at the time of inspection. Certificates reflect compliance status only as at that date and do not guarantee ongoing compliance if conditions change afterward (for example, a subsequent appliance fault or unauthorized alteration).

8.Repairs and additional work

Any repair, remedial, or upgrade work identified during an inspection will only be carried out with your approval and an agreed price, except where immediate rectification is required to address a genuine safety hazard, in which case we will notify you as soon as practicable.

9.Service guarantee

We stand behind the quality of our work. If you believe a service was not carried out to a proper standard, please contact us within a reasonable time so we can investigate and, where appropriate, remedy the issue at no additional cost.

10.Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Guardian Safety Checks’ liability for any loss or damage arising from our services is limited to the cost of re-supplying the relevant service. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11.Your obligations

You must ensure any information you provide about the property, its appliances, and safety systems is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge, and that the property is reasonably safe for our technicians to access and work in.

12.Privacy

Information collected through bookings and enquiries is used only to provide our services and communicate with you, and is not sold to third parties.

13.Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your booking will apply to that booking.

14.Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
